Rustic Grey Farmhouse Dresser
It has been forever since I entered a The Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest so I was very excited to join for April's "Make It Pretty" contest. This months contest is sponsored by D Lawless Hardware. For those who follow Creative Moments, you know I have found amazing hardware from D Lawless. Check out their website, they have everything you need when it comes to hardware.
I chose to use their Augustine drawer pulls to give this large dresser updated class. The dresser had the massive hutch but unless used for a coffee bar I find them dated so chose to just refinish the ample storage dresser and "make it pretty" again.
I always scrub my solid wood pieces from top to bottom after removing the hardware with TSP/soap mix and rinse well. This is important to get rid of any grease, dirt, etc and give it a nice clean surface for products to adhere well. Any repairs on made next, this one need some missing screws, easy peasy. Now it was on to the fun part, adding color. I started with Fusion Mineral Paint in a soft grey called pebble. Two coats for the perfect canvas.

The next step was doing a color wash over the cool grey, I went with Fusion Mineral Paint in chocolate.
Apply with a wet brush and mist with a spray bottle and wipe off. This should be done in sections as it dries fast. The dark brown will catch in all the nooks and crannies.
Here it is showing drawers and doors with the wash on the right
Dry brushing was next in line, I used Fusion Mineral Paint raw silk, a warm white over the entire dresser.
NOW for the make it pretty.. adding the Augustine drawer pulls. These gorgeous pulls added the perfect touch of class and style to this piece updating it to 2018.
